We have more than 20 years of experience training dogs of all ages. As a diversified group of trainers, we work together to create the best possible training program to improve your relationship with your dog.

Story

With extensive experience training both personal and over a thousand rescue dogs, we've gained expertise by regularly facing the same behavioral issues. We are here to solve these challenges effectively together.

Most of these problems and challenges arise from lack of clear communication, commitment and trust between a dog and its handler. Over the years, we've helped hundreds of owners rekindle their love and excitement for training their own dogs using simple strategies with tangible, real-world solutions.

We have proudly launched Bolder Dog Training to assist and empower dog owners in enriching their lives alongside their beloved companions.

Trainers

Judie

Judie's experience spans over two decades, marked by her remarkable achievement of assisting countless German Shepherds in finding permenant homes throughout the Pacific Northwest. Her unwavering commitment, respect and passion for the breed are unparalleled.

Her proven methodology revolves around not only training dogs but fostering a profound bond between dog and owner. Whether navigating the challenges of home life or thriving in public spaces, her guidance empowers both canines and their human companions to conquer real-world situations with confidence.

Judie has four German Shepherds who she loves dearly but always carries a special place in her heart for the littles, especially Chihuahuas.

Judie is a certified Canine Good Citizen (CGC) and (S.T.A.R Puppy) AKC Evaluator. She has helped many dogs be the best citizens they can be while earning their CGC, CGCA, and CGCU.

Jake

Jake has more than 10 years of experience working with and handling large breed rescue dogs, from Pit Bulls to German Shepherds. He has extensive experience training from everyday obedience to working through problem behaviors such as reactivity.

He uses both science and hands on experience to work with each dog in determining the best approach for success; all done for the best interest and care for the dog.

He has two German Shepherds and a Husky. They go with Jake on hikes, local outings, and wanted us to mention that they're great models (very pawfessional)!

Jake is also Owner and Founder of Bolder K9, a local handmade dog gear business.

Catherine

Catherine has tirelessly worked with working breeds in the rescue environment for the last decade with numerous rescues and non-profits. Her passion for animals is unmatched, she brings it into everything she does.

She specializes in critical period of development for puppies, ensuring they have the best start possible to their life journey. Catherine uses high level conditioning for a more positive approach to balanced training at all life stages.

She also has two German Shepherds and a Husky who regularly assist her with client dogs and her rescue work. All of which are rescues themselves and have helped hundreds of foster and rescue dogs on their journey to finding a forever home. They can't wait to meet you!

Style

We are REWARD-BASED BALANCED TRAINERS.

That means we follow the "positive-first" mindset of teaching through reinforcement and proofing through positive stressors. We will always choose less aversive methods first before progressing through the full spectrum of tools.

Ultimately, we are training you, and not just your dog. We always strive to find a perfect medium to help you achieve your goals on the most optimal timeline, and can adapt to different training styles as needed.
